Get to know Lisa, the Creator behind Liberty Cottage Designs!

Hello Friends!

My name is Lisa and I wanted to introduce my shop and how it came to be, as well as share some fun tidbits about me. To start off, I am patriotic and love America and Christian values. Our jewelry designs reflect these values, and each piece is created with the purpose to make respectful statements of love of country, family and faith.

How did the idea of patriotic and Christian jewelry start?

The idea came to me during the pandemic (lots of time to think and reflect) and I was searching to wear simple statement pieces that reflected my values and patriotism, but didn't want to look like it was 4th of July every day. I wanted something more subtle, and minimal and that you could wear every day. I didn't find much, so I started to play around with jewelry ideas. I researched metal, techniques, design styles, and practiced. I should emphasize the practice part, I probably have hundreds of scraps of metals I used to play around with designs, textures, and tools. I practiced different finishing techniques from rotary polishing wheels, to tumbling (I use both now) to finally getting a design piece I loved. Simply stated words with power, like Freedom, Patriot, 1776 to Jesus, Hope and Truth. My first piece was my 1776 necklace, and it really resonated with many. It continues to be my biggest seller to this day!

Who is the creator behind the jewelry?

Here are some random fun facts about me:

• I’m the youngest of 7 children
• I’m married to an amazing man, and I’m a stepmom to a 17yr old girl
• My favorite books are World War II fiction.
• Did some acting, used to be in local commercials in San Diego when I was in my 20’s.
• Dog mom to a champion Bouvier des Flandres (now retired and living the cush life)
• What’s on my itunes? Lots of oldies: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and some Johhny Cash.

I truly love making this jewelry and appreciate all the support in this wonderful community. I’m constantly learning and evolving, and so grateful to support other Christian businesses. May God bless you and your family!

God Bless,
Lisa
